Darilyn Jones

Senior Vice President & Chief Process Officer


Darilyn Jones joined Sequent Energy Management in August 2003. In October 2010, she moved to the new role of Senior Vice President and Chief Process Officer (CPO). Mrs. Jones’ primary responsibilities as CPO include initiating company-wide process improvements and automation initiatives to improve efficiency, increase scalability and support future growth of Sequent’s businesses.

As Senior Vice President of Risk Control, Mrs. Jones managed mid office functions from August 2003 to October 2010. Her responsibilities included management and oversight of credit, contract administration, structured risk control, trading risk control and operational risk control.

Prior to joining Sequent, Mrs. Jones was a senior manager with Accenture’s global energy strategy consulting practice where her primary focus was North America’s energy trading and risk management practices. She also assisted energy clients in developing an enterprise risk management framework across all commodities. Mrs. Jones has held executive positions in risk management at PG&E Energy Trading, Koch Energy Trading and El Paso Energy. Her career, which spans three decades in the energy industry, also includes accounting, auditing, operations and technology experience with major oil companies such as Exxon, Tenneco and Mobil Oil.

Mrs. Jones earned her MBA and her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Houston’s Bauer School of Business. She has been a NAESB Board member (Wholesale Gas Quadrant) since 2010 and is an active member of GARP (Global Association of Risk Professionals). Mrs. Jones has participated as an energy risk management expert in global energy risk and operational risk conferences in the US and Europe since 2000. She has conducted educational sessions for university and non-profit organizations about risk management principles and practices.

She resides in Houston with her husband, Thomas, and family.
